Why keep a history of checks and what you can read from it
One check is a point, several checks are a line. A history shows how one author develops, saves repeated work and at the same time builds the style profile from which the deviation from your own hand is computed.
Development over time
With a student you teach for a whole term, the change between pieces of work is more interesting than a single number. A jump in the hand between the third and the fourth paper says more than the absolute value.
The same goes for a freelance author who delivers regularly.
Less repeated work
When you know what you checked last week, you don't do the same thing again. With larger batches you notice it immediately.
Every check keeps its date and its text, so you can come back to a result even months later.
History as the basis of the profile
The style profile counts texts from the history that did not themselves come out suspicious and are longer than two hundred and fifty characters.
The profile is built from up to the last fifty such checks. An empty history means the deviation is not computed yet.

Can I delete something from the history?
Yes, every analysis can be deleted. The record disappears together with its text.
Does deleting affect the profile?
Yes, a deleted text no longer counts towards the profile. The profile is recomputed from what remains in the history.
How many checks does it take before this starts to make sense?
Six longer texts are enough for the first deviation. It starts being useful around fifteen.
